The Buds have already split their training camp roster into two groups, with Group One primarily comprised of players who are not likely to make the team and will soon be shipped back to their junior clubs or to the AHL's Toronto Marlies. Group Two consists of most of the Maple Leafs' anticipated opening night roster and a couple of roster hopefuls who continue to battle for roster spots.
One Leafs camp invitee has officially been sent back to his OHL team on Thursday as the Leafs' official PR team has announced that Jacob Frasca, a 6'5 forward, has been sent back to the Barrie Colts and will no longer be skating with Group One.
Frasca had been noticeable during the Leafs' recent trip to Traverse City, but was never a real candidate to make the team out of camp. His presence at training camp was more to just help him gain some experience and learn some new tools to help him at the next level as the 20-year-old undrafted forward will likely try to push for a pro hockey contract next summer.
