Rindell showed great anticipation and vision, jumping up on a play to spring an offensive chance coming out of the blue defensive zone and made no mistake in drawing in two defenders on the white side and curling back to create some space, finding a streaking Dylan Jackson (Northeastern University, NCAA), who made no mistake.
Rindell is still a long shot to make an impact for the Leafs at the NHL level, but he could have an impact for their AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies as early as next season. Rindell, a right-shot defenseman, hailing from Espoo, Finland, split time between Jukurit Mikkeli and Karpat last year in the Finnish SM-Liiga, producing 1 goal and 16 assists for 17 points in 42 games.
Elite prospects has Rindell listed at 6'0 and 176 lbs, so he'll still have quite a ways to go in terms of filling out his frame and adding some weight and strength. They also call him "an above average shooter from the point" which could put him in line for some power play time if he does play with the Marlies this year. Rindell is also already signed to his ELC as well.
