With just two preseason games left, the Leafs are giving the bubble players one last chance to prove they deserve a roster spot tonight. Aside from Rasmus Sandin, who will be making his preseason debut for the Buds after signing his 2-year, $2.8M contract ($1.4M AAV) and Ilya Samsonov, everyone else playing is fighting for one of the few roster spots available.

Wayne Simmonds, Kyle Clifford, Nick Robertson, Denis Malgin and Pontus Holmberg are just a few of the skaters looking to win a spot up front. While Victor Mete, Filip Kral and Mac Hollowell are fighting to be the next man up on the blueline. Look for Robertson to carry the load offensively for the Buds once again.

The good news is that there could be a few extra spots to start the season depending on the re-evaluation of Pierre Engvall's foot/ankle and the oblique injury to captain John Tavares. The bad news, we could see a few veterans waived and claimed, such as Simmonds and Clifford.
