Kyle Clifford might have been a forgotten name in the NHL, as he's only played 2 NHL games since 2022-23, but after tonight's antics in the Toronto Marlies/Belleville Senators game, there's a chance he might have taken a step up on the depth chart.

At the end of the 2nd period and with players heading towards their respective benches and locker rooms, Senators forward Bokondji Imama caught Marlies goaltender Dennis Hildeby with an unwarranted spear. Of course, the Marlies took exception to Imama's antics, but none more than Kyle Clifford, who jumped in, dropped his gloves and eventually took Imama down to the ice.

Imama was given a five-minute major for spearing, five for fighting, and two for leaving the bench, alongside two game misconducts, while Clifford was handed five for fighting, two for leaving the bench, and a game misconduct. Marlies forward Joseph Blandisi was also handed a game misconduct - not entirely sure why though.

Although the period had come to a close and everyone was heading off the ice, Clifford and Imama were given minors for leaving the bench because they weren't on the ice for a shift as the period came to a close.

After their crushing 8-0 victory, Marlies forward Ryan Tverberg joked that he would panic and run if he saw Clifford barrelling in towards him:

"I'd panic. I'd run," he joked. "That's not the guy you want to see coming at you."

Can't say I'd argue with him on that one. Clifford looks like he'd be right at home in ancient rome, taking center stage at the Roman Coliseum, fighting lions and other gladiators.
