Leafs place a pair of staff members in COVID protocol, loan 3 players to the Marlies
Following the postponement of all Leafs games and team activities until after the Christmas break, the Leafs have announced that two more members of the organization have been added to COVID-19 protocol on Monday.
Per the team's official Twitter account, a pair of support staff will join Alex Kerfoot, John Tavares, Wayne Simmonds, Jason Spezza, Jack Campbell, Travis Dermott, T.J. Brodie, assistant coach Spencer Carbery and head coach Sheldon Keefe in protocol.
In addition, the Leafs also announced that they have loaned Kyle Clifford, Alex Biega and Carl Dahlstrom to the AHL's Toronto Marlies. The Marlies currently have as many as 10 players in COVID protocol as well.
Hopefully, with team activities on pause until after the break, the organization can contain the outbreak and that all players, coaches and support staff can focus on rest and recovery and coming back strong after the break - if the league doesn't pause play into January, that is.
