Tuesday night, Matt Murray made his long awaited return to the crease against his former teammates and the Pittsburgh Penguins. After missing over a month with an adductor injury, Murray was fantastic in his return posting a .946 save percentage in a 5-2 win.

This morning at the game-day skate, however, Murray and Ilya Samsonov, who has been out with a knee injury the past couple of weeks, confused reporters. Murray skated very briefly before practice officially started but left early, while Samsonov occupied the home net and left the actual skate early, as the starter normally does on game days. Erik Kallgren occupied the backup net, which had many believing that the Buds may be going with a Samsonov/Kallgren duo tonight.

Following practice, however, it was confirmed by Sheldon Keefe that Matt Murray would be making his home debut for the Leafs as they host the red-hot New Jersey Devils - winners of 10 in a row. The Leafs will need Murray to put together the same type of performance he had the other night in Pittsburgh if they hope to steal 2 points from the Devils.

The Buds continue to utilize 3 goaltenders, as Kallgren will indeed back up Murray. Meanwhile, Samsonov will continue rehabbing his knee injury in practice.
