The Leafs are in Florida to take on the Panthers in their final meeting of the regular season on Saturday evening, but may be dealing with some blueline issues, as the team's PR account announced on Twitter a short time ago that they have recalled defenseman Carl Dahlstrom from the Toronto Marlies ahead of tonight's game on an emergency basis.

Dahlstrom, 27, has been up and down with the Leafs throughout the year, but has appeared in just 2 games with the Buds this season, recording one lone assist.

It's unknown if there is another defender, aside from Jake Muzzin and Rasmus Sandin, who might be a bit banged up at the moment or whether the Leafs may just want to carry a 7th defenseman with them to Washington on Sunday.

Muzzin and Sandin are both nearing returns but remain out of the lineup, leaving the Leafs with the pairings of Morgan Rielly/Ilya Lyubushkin, Mark Giordano/Timothy Liljegren, and T.J. Brodie/Justin Holl.

Dahlstrom could jump into the lineup tomorrow night, but it seems like unless there's another injury, Dahlstrom is up as insurance with the Leafs' back-to-back this weekend with the Panthers and Capitals.

Either way, Dahlstrom is up with the big club at least for the time being.
