Leafs reveal Ryan O'Reilly and Noel Acciari's linemates
Here's hoping that it'll be one hell of a homecoming for former Blues captain and Clinton, ON native Ryan O'Reilly, who was acquired by the Leafs along with Noel Acciari late Friday evening. The Leafs play host to the Montreal Canadiens tonight and, to everyone's surprise, O'Reilly and Acciari were "adamant" about playing right away, rather than taking some time to get up to speed with their new teammates and new system according to Sheldon Keefe.
There was plenty of speculation over where each of O'Reilly and Acciari would play in the Leafs' lineup, with both players able to play both center or wing, but if tonight's warm-ups were any indicator, both O'Reilly and Acciari will play center.
For O'Reilly, he'll saddle up in between captain John Tavares and Mitch Marner. This shouldn't come as any real shocker, as the Leafs were rumoured to be considering shifting Tavares over to the wing at one point near the beginning of the season. Meanwhile, Acciari will find himself slotting in between Zach Aston-Reese and Alexander Kerfoot.
It's really anyone's guess how long things will stay this way. Sheldon Keefe likes to tinker and get some different looks, so it stands to reason that we'll see some experimentation over the next few weeks.
