The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed 22-year-old centre Curtis Douglas to an entry level contract starting in the 2022-23 season. His contract will pay $837,500 per season for 2 years.

At 6'9 250lbs, Douglas stands out in a crowd. He's a massive body that could bring some serious size to the Leafs' bottom-6. This season with the Marlies, Douglas has played 49 games and recorded 27 points and 76 PIMs. He's had a few good scraps as well.

Douglas has some work to do on his skating, but his improvement this year playing for the Marlies has impressed the Leafs enough to create a path for him to the NHL. This is where the real work begins for Douglas, if he wants a crack at playing in the show. He'll have to earn it.

Could he be the guy to replace Wayne Simmonds on the 4th line? His fighting skills are definitely eye opening. His size and physicality are both things the Leafs need as well. If he can keep improving his play on the ice, we may have a new tough guy in Toronto very soon!
