Well, if their morning skate was any indication, the Canadiens are looking to answer in kind, playing most of their top dogs on Monday night as well. Here's a look at what the Habs' lineup could look like tonight.
The two most notable absences for the Leafs and Habs are John Tavares and Nick Suzuki. Obviously, the Leafs still have the trio of Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews and Michael Bunting, who should absolutely dominate against a Habs team who is still very much preparing for another transitional year.
This game has "trap" written all over it for the Leafs. Typically, with the way this team has gone about its business in past seasons, when they're heavily favoured to win a matchup, they have a tendency to lay a bit of an egg. How this team plays tonight against a Canadiens team who will certainly be out for blood will be a telling sign of what's to come this season for the Leafs.
