Lightning defenseman takes a shot at the Leafs before their Saturday night matchup
Mikhail Sergachev still seems to have a sour taste in his mouth after the Leafs eliminated he and the Lightning in six games during the first round of last season's playoffs. Earlier this summer, Sergachev spoke to a Russian sports outlet and said he was still upset about the loss and that he felt as though the Leafs got lucky.
With the Leafs in Tampa for their first matchup since Game 6 tonight, Sergachev took the opportunity to take yet another shot at the Leafs when he spoke with the media in Tampa yesterday when asked what he took away from the loss to their 1st round to the Leafs. Apparently he's still bothered by the result.
"Probably that we lost and had a long off-season So yeah, that's probably what they feel like every year." - Sergachev on the Leafs
Sergachev clearly hasn't slept much thinking about the series loss to the Leafs and has a chip on his shoulder about it. If anyone in Toronto was made aware of his comments, then perhaps Sergachev has given the Leafs some bulletin board material ahead of their Saturday night clash.
