Liljegren leaves game after scary accidental collision
Timothy Liljegren was forced out of Wednesday nights game against the Anaheim Ducks after a strange collision. The rookie blueliner lost control of the puck at centre ice and fanned on a dump-in attempt. His momentum carried him off his feet into a face-first fall.
Unfortunately, Anaheim's Trevor Zegras was skating in the opposite direction and Liljegren's face rammed into his knee, knocking Zegras down with him.
Liljegren was assessed a minor penalty for tripping on the play, but instead of going to the box, he went straight down the tunnel.
The Leafs announced via their Twitter account that Liljegren was taken out of the game for precautionary reasons. A possible concussion being the likely cause.
