Schenn was asked on Tuesday, prior to Game 1 against his former Tampa Bay Lightning, how he felt about being back where it all started and having a chance to play in Toronto in the playoffs for the first time as a Leaf. His response was as wholesome as they come.
However, his response to what type of contact, if any, he's had with his former teammates wasn't nearly as wholesome. Schenn revealed that he had essentially flipped a switch on his friendships in Tampa when the playoffs began.
I suppose this shouldn't be too much of a surprise, since Schenn just dropped the gloves with Pat Maroon in the Leafs' 2nd last game of the season when they played the Lightning in Tampa on April 11th.
At any rate, "The Human Eraser" is not allowing his former teammates any free passes against the Leafs, which is exactly what you'd expect from a feisty veteran like Schenn. There are no friends in the playoffs, as they say, and I think it's safe to say that Schenn won't be pulling up on any hits or holding back in any fights in his pursuit of his 3rd career Stanley Cup.
