As a result of sanctions that were placed against Russian oligarchs including Chelsea's current owner, Roman Abramovich, Chelsea FC could become the next team to join the MLSE family as Larry Tanenbaum has joined Boston Celtics owner Steve Pagliuca's bid to purchase one of Europe's top football clubs.

Tanenbaum is a part of the MLSE ownership group which owns the Leafs, Raptors, Toronto FC, and Toronto Argonauts. Perhaps Chelsea could become part of the mix.

There are 3 other bids for the club all with ties to other pro sports teams in North America and Europe. That being said, Pagliuca and Tanenbaum's bid appears to be the front runner for the club. They have disclosed the most information in regards to their bid and franchise icon, John Terry has endorsed Pagliuca and Tanenbaum.

Chelsea is expected to sell for roughly $4 billion and what is already one of Europe's most prestigious and well known football clubs could soon be under part of the same ownership group as the Toronto Maple Leafs.
