Maple Leafs confirm there will be a new goal song starting tonight
Just this afternoon, Justin Bieber was posting on social media that he can't wait to hear some Hall & Oates tonight. Why? Because for the last number of years, "You Make My Dreams (Come True)" has been the official Maple Leafs goal song. Well, sorry, Justin - you won't be hearing any Hall & Oates tonight.
Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun had reported that the Leafs have confirmed that there will be a new goal song beginning tonight against the Montreal Canadiens!
"Hall and Oates are out. Leafs confirm they will change goal song 'Dreams' to a selection of three or four tunes based on Original Six games, Next Generation, Throwback Thursdays and a regular season standard to be unveiled tonight." - Lance Hornby on the Leafs' goal song changing
We don't yet know what the Leafs have selected for their new goal song, but I've stated a number of times to various friends and family members that "Three Pistols" by The Tragically Hip would make for an excellent goal song. However, there are plenty of others tunes that would work well.
Same core, new GM, new supporting cast, new goal song - tonight marks the start of a new era in Toronto. Can't wait for puck drop tonight!
