The Toronto Maple Leafs have officially confirmed jersey numbers for Brandon Carlo and Scott Laughton and confirmed their new linemates in their Leafs debuts.
Brad Treliving did whatever he could to help improve the Leafs' roster ahead of the playoffs during Friday's eventful trade deadline.
With the acquisitions or former Flyers forward Scott Laughton and ex-Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo, fans have responded favourably to the moves made by Treliving and company.
When the Laughton and Carlo deals were announces, Craig Berube made it very clear very quickly that he planned to have both make their Leafs debuts on Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche. Naturally, that meant that the organization had a couple of jerseys to prepare for the newcomers.
On Saturday afternoon, the Leafs' social media team unveiled Carlo and Laughton's fresh new white and blue road jerseys, with Carlo donning his typical #25, last worn by the departing Conor Timmins.
For Laughton, however, he could not retain his usual #21, as that has been retired out of respect for the late, great Borje Salming. Instead, Laughton will wear #24 in Toronto, last worn by the departing Connor Dewar.
As far as where they'll both slot in, Craig Berube has confirmed that Carlo will pair up with Morgan Rielly, which was a pretty good assumption from the start. As for Laughton, he'll slot in next to Max Domi and Bobby McMann. Calle Jarnkrok will come out of the lineup and Anthony Stolarz gets the start in Denver.
It may look a little weird to see these two Atlantic Division rivals in Leafs jerseys at first -- especially Carlo, who made a career out of besting the Maple Leafs in the postseason.
