Entering Tuesday's game, Matthews had 276 goals and 220 assists for 496 points in only 441 games. Meanwhile, Marner had 151 goals and 343 assists for 494 points in 460 games. The 500 point milestone is within their reach for each of these young phenoms.
Matthews assisted on the opening goal from Justin Holl and Marner then assisted on the final-minute goal from John Tavares. Their individual assists have them 497 and 495 points respectively and only need 3 and 5 more points to reach the incredible 500-point milestone.
The Buds are in Arizona on Thursday and Colorado on Saturday. With a little luck, perhaps we could see both Matthews and Marner reach the feat before the week is out!
