Toronto Maple Leafs pivot Auston Matthews appears to be having a blast at the 2022 Honda NHL All-Star festivities in Las Vegas. Matthews, along with teammate and close friend Jack Campbell took part in their respective skills competition events on Friday, with Soupy joining forces with Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy to win the Save Streak comp. Meanwhile, Matthews came up short in the Blackjack challenge "21 in '22".

Matthews had stated during the post-competition presser that his favourite event to watch was the Save Streak, due to Campbell walking away with the win, but there was another highlight of the night that stuck out for #34.

Matthews was blown away by countryman Trevor Zegras, who hit an absolutely UNBELIEVABLE blindfolded Michigan goal in the Breakaway Challenge. Here it is, in case you missed it.

Surprisingly, the competition winner ended up being Alex Pietrangelo in sort of a "The house always wins" scenario for the Vegas Golden Knights defenseman, but Matthews (and a few million others I'm sure) believe that Zegras was robbed.

«Pretty cool move. I dunno. I'd like to see how blindfolded he really was," Matthews said with a grin. "He made it look pretty easy. But it was pretty sweet. To me, that was the winner.»

The All-Star Games kick off at 3:00pm ET this afternoon! I can't wait to see how everything unfolds. It's been a pretty entertaining event thus far.
