It's only been two games so far, but the impact that veteran blueliner Jordie Benn has made on this Leafs team through two games has been pretty undeniable. Through his two games with the Buds this season, Benn has managed to land on the scoresheet in each game, with 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, he's a +3 and he's racked up a whopping 6 blocked shots, 10 hits and 6 shots on goal in 15 shot attempts.

His impact has not been lost on his teammates, including Mitch Marner, who said following Tuesday's win in Pittsburgh that the 6'2, 200-pound defenseman has the appearance of a "lumberjack", stating that he wouldn't want to go into a corner with Benn barreling in at him - nor would he be inclined to fight the 35-year-old journeyman defenseman.

Benn, who is actually getting to showcase his tremendous personality under the bright lights in Toronto, smirked, chuckled and agreed with Marner's assessment of his appearance.

"I'll take the lumberjack [description]. I like flannel shirts, jeans & boots."

Sheldon Keefe also spoke about Benn's importance to the team in the early going, commenting on his big personality and the life he's brought to the room and to the bench in his limited time in Toronto so far. "He's been giving us really good minutes," Keefe said of Benn.
