The collision between Rielly and Palmieri seemed like a relatively innocent one, with both players puck-watching and just running into one another. Neither player was moving at a high rate of speed, but both were slow to get up after the play, which can be seen below.
Rielly took exactly one shift following this collision and departed the ice and headed straight down the tunnel. A short time later, a trainer approached head coach Sheldon Keefe to have a quick word before departing once again.
Hopefully Rielly's absence for the remainder of the third period was simply precautionary. If Rielly ends up missing an extended period of time, that may force GM Kyle Dubas' hand and lead him to search for a solution on the trade market.
