The Leafs have been stuck in a bit of a pattern of being limited to just 2 games per week for some time now. This was, at large, due to the postponements that the league had deemed necessary to limit the number of games that teams in Canadian markets were playing in front of empty arenas. The NHL is hoping that by having those games played at later dates, they'll be able to minimize any lost revenues.

While there are several Leafs players who have been producing extremely well of late, including Mitch Marner, who now has 9 points in his last 5 games, it was a pair of former Leafs who were recognized by the NHL in their three stars of the week.

Nazem Kadri finished atop the list, being named the NHL's first star of the week after producing 3 goals and 8 points in 4 games. Nasty Naz's big week has catapulted him into 3rd overall in league scoring with 59 points, behind only Jonathan Huberdeau (62) and Leon Draisaitl (61).

The NHL's second star honours went to former Leafs goaltender Frederik Andersen, who backstopped the Carolina Hurricanes to 3 wins, while posting a .938 SV% and a 1.91 GAA. With this trio of wins, Andersen has moved into a tie for the league lead in wins with Andre Vasilevskiy with 24 wins apiece.

The third star this week was Calgary Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau, who also posted 8 points this week (2G, 6A) in just 4 games played.
