In the second period of the Leafs and Lightning game Thursday night, the two team got chippy after the lightning got out to a quick 4-0 lead in the second period. It all started when Anthony Cirelli and Mark Giordano got into a battle and all hell broke loose.

Giordano was tied up with Cirelli. John Tavares got tied up with Brandon Hagel, while Michael Bunting, who always seems to be in the middle of things, was going at it with Alex Killorn. Everyone on the ice was at least barking at someone except for one Leaf, William Nylander.

While the Leafs were battling and attempting to show some fight in a game that was getting out of hand, Nylander stood there and showed little to no engagement in the chaos.

Part of finding that second wind in the playoffs includes getting involved physically. For all the abuse that Tavares takes from other players at the very least him and the other Leaf stars have shown some pushback. Nylander had none tonight. It's a concern for the Leafs who seem to need to give him a wake up call on a regular basis.

Ultimately, it's not William Nylander's job to fight on this team. That being said, when there's a scrum in front of the net, at least some pushback would be nice to see out of the Leafs winger.
