Ovechkin signs pro soccer contract.. yes, seriously; He played on Saturday and scored because of course he did
In what was a surprising move for everyone, Washington Capitals superstar sniper Alex Ovechkin signed a one game contract with Dynamo FC Moscow of the Russian Premier League. Yes, a pro soccer team. I, for one, would love to know what the itinerary looked like for Ovi to get from Washington DC to Moscow, because with everything going on, I'm sure there are no direct flights available right now.
The game took place on Saturday, and of course, Ovechkin scored a goal. In typical Ovechkin fashion, he managed no turn himself invisible to defenders until a teammate found him with a pass. It may not have been the Ovi one timer we're used to seeing, but it found the back of the net all the same. It seems that no matter what sport Ovi plays, if there's a net, he'll find it.
