With points in last night's 4-1 win over Dallas, William Nylander and John Tavares have inched closer to a longstanding franchise record. Both of them have registered at least a point in all seven of the Leafs' games so far this season, placing them tied for second on the list for most consecutive games with a point to start a season.

Tavares and Nylander are just one point/game behind John Anderson, Lanny McDonald and Frank Mahovlich, who currently hold a share of the record at 8 consecutive games. Nylander and Tavares both have 11 points through 7 games, with Nylander having 5 goals and 6 assists while Tavares has 4 goals and 7 assists.

Nylander and Tavares will look to tie Anderson, McDonald and Mahovlich Saturday night in Nashville when the Leafs wrap up their 5-game road trip. The Leafs are currently 3-1 on what will be their longest road trip of the season and will look to end it on a high note before returning home on Halloween to take on the LA Kings.
