Patrick Marleau's son Brody targeted for a child abduction
I'd like to issue a trigger warning to anyone who might have a sensitivity to the following subject matter, relating to child abduction. It is an extremely touchy subject and I'd recommend proceeding with caution.
Former Toronto Maple Leafs winger and team dad Patrick Marleau and his family were nearly struck by tragedy late Tuesday evening as their son, Brody, was nearly abducted by a suspicious couple at a hotel pool.
Marleau's wife, Christina, shared the story on Twitter late last night following the scary ordeal, thanking a family from Louisiana for interjecting and saving their son from his potential captors.
Mrs. Marleau recounted the turn of events that had almost led to Brody being kidnapped, stating that he had forgotten a pair of sunglasses by the pool and had left his parents to go back and get them when he was approached by a lone female.

The female began following him and talking to young Brody, getting closer, eventually being joined by her partner. Just as they were reaching for the boy and coaxing him to come with them, the Headlam family had approached them and ensured that Brody made it back to his mom safely.
As a father to two young stepchildren, I can't even imagine what this must have been like for the Marleau's. I get worried just knowing that my kids are crossing busy streets without their mom and I around on their walk home from school. Nevermind the idea of them being abducted.
For any parent, that is a worst nightmare scenario, and I'm very happy to hear that a near crisis was avoided. Unreal.
