"I have nervous. A lot of emotion. The result, not too great. It's hard loss for me. I think I played bad this game," said Samsonov, who took ownership for his part in the team's 5-2 loss. It was his first loss since October and the second straight in which the Leafs failed to register a point after going 15 straight games registering one.
It wasn't all bad for Samsonov in his return to Washington though, as the Capitals gave him a video tribute during a TV timeout which led to a nice ovation from those in attendance. When asked about the tribute video following the game, Samsonov was thankful, saying, "Thank you, Washington fans. Fans are in my heart."
