The Leafs had a day off yesterday and opted to have an optional skate this morning where there was some surprising news about the Leafs' blueline.

Morgan Rielly will be drawing back in after sitting out Thursday's game for some additional rest. Lead reporter David Alter initially reported that Luke Schenn stayed out late at the morning skate and that usually means that a player is scratched.

It was projected that Rielly would be drawing back in for Schenn, however Sheldon Keefe announced after practice that Erik Gustafsson left the team to head back to Washington for a family related matter. It is unclear if the Leafs will be using a 12-6 or 11-7 lineup tonight, but we do know that Matt Murray will be starting his second consecutive game after a solid outing against the Panthers.

Murray has been stellar in his last two starts, against Ottawa and Florida and will look to continue his improved play tonight against Carolina. That also means that we will likely see Joseph Woll get the start for tomorrow's game against Nashville.
