With the Leafs preparing themselves for the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight, we know that the team's third-string goalie, Erik Kallgren, will be in between the pipes following a trio of appearances against Boston, Carolina and Vegas that resulted in the Leafs skating away with 5 of a possible 6 points.

Beyond that, however, tomorrow's game against Vancouver remains a little bit foggy. Sheldon Keefe was asked following the Leafs' morning skate on Friday whether Matt Murray would be back in net tomorrow night. His response was the best that he could give with the information he had at the time.

"No final decisions have been made. [Murray] has progressed well. He has done well. We will get through today and make the determination from there."

-Keefe on who will start tomorrow against Vancouver

Murray was injured during practice following his first start of the season against Montreal in the season opener. He was placed on LTIR in the middle of October with an adductor injury and has, so far, looked very good in practice since returning. However, until he has the medical clearance that he needs, the Leafs will have to continue to be patient.

In my opinion, even if Murray does have to miss one or two more games, it's better to have him back at 100% than it would be to have him back at 90% and risk a setback - especially with Ilya Samsonov already sidelined with his own injury.
