Leafs captain John Tavares suffered a similar injury during the preseason and ended up on the sidelines for a few weeks. With Brodie having been out a little over two weeks himself, Leafs Nation had been wondering about his status, believing that he must be getting close, given the timeline.
Well, we do have a bit of an update on the Brodie front, as the 32-year-old blueliner was putting in work this morning at Scotiabank Arena with the team's conditioning staff.
Sheldon Keefe mentioned following today's morning skate that he was present for Brodie's solo session with the team's conditioning staff and thought that this is the best that Brodie has looked thus far in his limited time back on the ice.
There's still no official timeline for Brodie's return but given the fact that more than two weeks have elapsed since his original week-to-week designation, I'd imagine this means he's getting close. The next step will be for Brodie to re-join his teammates at practice to get back up to speed.
The Leafs are an astonishing 10-1-3 in the month of November, racking up 23 of a possible 28 points, despite the fact that they've been without the services of Brodie, along with Jake Muzzin (injured Oct 17th) and Morgan Rielly (injured November 21st) on their recent 4-game road trip, which they swept, collecting 4 wins against the likes of New Jersey, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Detroit - all of whom saw lengthy win streaks end at the hands of the Buds.
