Having to commute to work in the snow that struck the GTA would suck. What would make it even worse would be getting bag skated at practice. That was the reality for Sheldon Keefe's Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday.

Although the Leafs went 2-1-1 on their road trip this past week, they certainly did not play their best hockey. They blew 3-1 leads in both of their wins against the Vegas Golden Knights and St. Louis Blues. Meanwhile they blew a 4-1 lead in an overtime loss against the Colorado Avalanche. Lastly goaltender, Karel Vejmelka stood on his head and the Leafs ended up losing 2-1 to the Arizona Coyotes.

Sheldon Keefe was much more lenient on the Leafs' play than he has been in the past, largely due to the team previously battling a severe COVID outbreak and are still trying to find their legs after a long layoff.

One thing Keefe has repeatedly mentioned however, has been the Leafs' conditioning since they returned to action. Today, Keefe made sure to address that. Hopefully this bag skate is a wakeup call for the team and they'll come out looking energized when they take on the New York Rangers on Wednesday.
