Former NHLer and current Flyers GM Daniel Briere was always one of the most respected and well-liked players in the NHL because of how he carried himself. He was always polite when speaking with the media, was always involved in charitable work and played the game the right way.

Unfortunately, in this case, the apple fell very far from the tree when it comes to his son, Carson. In 2021, Carson Briere was dismissed from Arizona State University's hockey team for violating team rules. He eventually made his way to Mercyhurst, where he joined their hockey program and showed promise. In his first two seasons he had 19 and 27 points respectively and had 13 points in 30 games this season.

However, he clearly did not learn his lesson when it comes to his off-ice conduct, as he was recently seen on security camera footage at a bar sitting in the wheelchair of a disabled individual before pushing it down the stairs.

According to reports, the wheelchair was at the top of the stairs as the person that needs it had to be carried down the stairs to the washrooms. Ignoring the lack of accessibility of the establishment, to not have easy access to restrooms, this was an absolutely despicable act from someone who should know better.

Before anyone says "he's just a kid" and chalks this up to boys being boys, he is a grown man. He's almost 24 years-old. It's unclear what will happen to Briere now that the footage has been released, but it would be surprising if he wasn't removed from Mercyhurst's team and faces additional discipline and possibly even criminal charges. I shutter to think what could have happened had someone began walking up those stairs at the moment he pushed the chair down.
