With the Leaf win and Lightning loss Tuesday night, the Leafs are now 8 points clear of them for home ice advantage. With these two teams meeting Thursday in Florida, the Leafs could secure home ice for the first time in nearly 20 years.

In the midst of their loss to the Wings last night, Stamkos collected 3 points and tied former Lightning great and current Habs head coach, Martin St. Louis for most points in franchise history with 953. At 32 years old, Stamkos is going to obliterate St Louis' old record, so long as he can stay healthy. Stamkos would likely be well passed the 1000 point plateau right now had he not gone through some horrible injury luck in the prime of his career. The first, a broken leg caused him to only play 37 games in 2013/2014, and the second being a torn meniscus in his knee that only allowed him to play 17 games.

Considering there was a lot of doubt about Stamkos being able to become a star again after breaking his leg 8 years ago, what he has done in the years since is nothing short of remarkable. Not only is Stamkos going to shatter St Louis' record but he is 28 goals shy of 500 and 19 assists shy of 500 - both of which will be reached at some point next season. Huge accomplishments for a guy that has had so much bad luck for injuries in his career.
