The All-Star Game is a ''take it or leave it'' event for a lot of fans, but for the players, they all seem to enjoy themselves each and every year. One of the reasons is because the trip is mostly good vibes and having an opportunity to meet their rivals and get to know them a little better rather than playing to beat one another.

There are a ton of heated rivalries that exist within the respective divisions and although this particular rivalry hasn't been as heated in recent years, the Red Wings and Leafs have had some nasty matchups in previous eras. However, for Mitch Marner and Dylan Larkin, this weekend was all in good fun - especially for Larkin, who had the opportunity to skate with Marner. It's safe to say that with his comments during their game against the Metropolitan Division, Larkin has a whole new appreciation for Marner's game.

"Playing with Mitch Marner is probably the highlight of my trip so far" - Dylan Larkin to Sportsnet's David Amber during an in-game interview

That's pretty high praise from a pretty good player in his own right. Larkin, who captains the Red Wings, is a pending UFA and while his first preference is to return to Detroit next season with a brand new contract, there is an outside chance that negotiations break down and that he could be dealt at the deadline. If that happens, perhaps he could find himself in a position where he gets to play with Marner for an entire playoff run if he winds up in Toronto.
