Surprise name added to Leafs' training camp roster, plus two noteworthy absences during Monday's sessions
Lost in the excitement of the Leafs' core four being reunited at training camp were the absences of two additional members of the club. Bottom-6 center David Kampf was absent from the Group 1 skate on Monday, but perhaps the more interesting development is that the Leafs didn't have Adam Gaudette's name listed in either Group 1 or 2.
Per Sportsnet's Luke Fox, Kampf has taken a personal day, while Gaudette is inactive due to a shoulder injury suffered during Saturday's clash with the Sens. Gaudette is currently listed as day-to-day.
While the Buds did have two absences, they also had an intriguing addition in 2021 5th round draft pick Ty Voit. Voit was not initially listed on the original training camp roster, but comes into camp after a breakout season with the OHL's Sarnia Sting in 2021-22, posting 26 goals and 80 points in 67 games.
