The NHL has made changes to the regular season schedule. As expected, many of the games that were postponed in December and January will be taking place throughout what was supposed to be the Olympic break in February.
The Toronto Maple Leafs had 9 games postponed because of COVID-19 this season. These games will be made up for in the coming weeks, starting January 31st, when the Leafs host the New Jersey Devils at Scotiabank Arena.
During that stretch, the Leafs will finish their western Canadian + Seattle road trip that lead to the start of these postponements back in the middle of December. Other notable games include: Freddy Andersen's return on February 7th, and a back-to-back on February 21st and 22nd where the Leafs will be on the road in Montreal and Columbus. Luckily for the Leafs, that is their only back-to-back as they make up these postponed games.
The NHL schedule will return to normal on February 24th when the Leafs host the Minnesota Wild. Hopefully with the new NHL testing requirements we won't see the postponements that were seen in late December and early January and the NHL can stick with their goal of finishing the regular season on April 29th.
