It looks as though the Edmonton Oilers have secured a deal to bring back another important member of their forward corps as Evander Kane himself, via Twitter, reported that he and the Edmonton Oilers have come to terms on a contract for four years with an AAV of $5.125 million. This is a great contract for Kane and the Oilers, as it is team friendly and will allow them to add a solid goalie as well as depth pieces.

Evander Kane, 30, is coming off a solid season with the Oilers. He posted 22 goals and 17 assists for 39 points in 43 games. He also had a solid playoff performance amassing 17 points, in 15 games played with 13 of those points being goals. That's not bad at all for a player who didn't start his season until the end of January. Kane played most of his minutes in a top line role alongside Connor McDavid, while also seeing top power play minutes.

Kane played a big part in Edmonton's playoff run and is a key forward in their top six. He is a big body power forward who definitely helps Connor McDavid in the corners and allows him the time and space to create plays. Despite his checkered past, keeping him on the team was a smart decision by GM Ken Holland.
