Over the last couple of seasons, Jakob Chychrun's name has been mentioned in a number of trade rumours, what with the Arizona Coyotes being a basement team and Chychrun wanting an opportunity to compete for a Stanley Cup.

In terms of the teams who have been linked to the 24-year-old blueliner, there have been reports of a large number of teams who have expressed an interest or at least kicked tires on Chychrun, the Leafs, Senators, Bruins and Ducks among them.

According to Phoenix Sports' Craig S. Morgan, one of the main hold-ups in a deal involving Chychrun appears to be that Chychrun may have a very short list of teams who he'd be interested in playing with. Morgan confirmed that it was not the whole story, but a piece of the puzzle.

Chychrun does not have any trade protection, so this is likely just Coyotes GM Bill Armstrong trying to do right by the young defender, rather than just shipping him off to a location where he may not wish to play.

Chychrun has 3 years remaining on his current deal, which carries a $4.6M AAV - a steal for a player with Chychrun's abilities.
