The Vegas Golden Knights pulled off what could amount to an absolutely vital two points in the standings with a clutch 4-3 overtime win against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night thanks to defenseman Shea Theodore.

With the win, the Golden Knights pull to within 2 points of the Dallas Stars for the final Wild Card spot in the West, and within 3 points of the LA Kings for 3rd in the Pacific Division. Both Vegas and LA have 4 games remaining while Dallas has 5.

During the contest, the always dangerous Tom Wilson lined up Golden Knights forward Evgenii Dadonov in the Caps' defensive zone for an absolutely bone-jarring hit.

Wilson will undoubtedly be an x-factor for the Caps in the playoffs. A guy that big who can skate that well and lay the boom on opposing players the way only he can will make the Caps a very tough out in the first round. The question is, can Wilson remain on the right side of the line, or will he do what he's done so often throughout his career and stray across that line and earn himself a meeting with Player Safety?
