Trevor Zegras has done it again. Another ridiculous goal thats left jaws on the ground and defencemen scratching their heads. Zegras showed the world how ridiculous his puck handling skills are at the All Star game this season, but when he does it in the heat of a real game its so much better.

You have to feel for Anton Stralman here, he's going to have to watch this one for years. Zegras puts the puck through his own legs, through Stralman's and picks it up on the other side. before Stralman realizes where his man went, where the puck went or whats happening, Zegras is tucking the puck into the net. This feat is made even more impressive by the fact that he had to reach around teammate Sonny Milano to do it.

The "Michigan" or "Lacrosse goal" as its been called, has created some controversy since Andrei Svechnikov first brought the move to NHL ice. Some people say its too showboaty, its embarassing defencemen and goalies. To me that point of view is more embarrassing than baseball fans who hate the bat flip. Sports should be fun, let sports be fun.

The more legitimate argument is that with sticks up high like this so close to the net, there is a risk of injury for goaltenders. The non-certified cat eye cages most NHL goalies wear have gaps in the cage that a stick blade can fit through. An eye injury for an NHL goaltender can easily be a career ender. I have time for that line of thinking and maybe there is something that can be done to mitigate the risk. For now though, I will continue to watch players like Zegras score all kinds of creative and exciting goals., and I'll enjoy every minute of it.
