The black-eye that Hockey Canada has been sporting throughout this summer does not seem to be going anywhere and thanks to a pair of sexual assault allegations and relating lawsuits stemming from incidents involving members of the 2003 and 2018 World Junior teams coming to light, the program likely faces some sweeping changes in an attempt to address some of the culture issues in hockey.

While the 2018 allegations seem to have drawn most of the attention, the 2003 allegations have really been a hot topic of late, especially since Halifax police revealed that they'd be investigating the matter further.

The latest update in this saga is that Halifax police are now aware of the names of two players who were allegedly involved in the sexual assault of a Halifax woman back in 2003.

Police were reportedly tipped off by someone who was shown a video of the assault and recognized two players, who the source stated "went on to have NHL careers".

The names of the two players have not yet been released to the public, but it's worth mentioning that the vast majority of players on that team went on to play in the NHL, some experiencing a great deal of NHL success. There were also several former Leafs on the team.

We'll continue to keep our eye on the investigation and provide any updated that may become available.
