The NHL's All-Star weekend is 2/3 of the way over, with just today's All-Star Game left to go before players travel back to their NHL cities to resume the NHL schedule next week.

Thursday's All-Star Draft was a bit of a gong show in the grand scheme of things, seeming very uncoordinated and awkward. However, there was some entertainment value there as Canadian singer/songwriter Michael Buble admitted to being under the influence of mushrooms during the event.

Team Matthews' first pick was, of course, one of his Maple Leafs' teammates, William Nylander - the team's leading point-getter at the moment. Matthews also went on to select Mitch Marner, ensuring that all four Leafs were on the same team for the All-Star Game.

Following the draft, as Nylander was being interviewed, celebrity co-captain of Team McDavid, Will Arnett, made sure to step in and hijack Nylander's interview. The results are as awesome as you can imagine. Nylander seemed to get a real kick out of it.

For those who may or may not be aware, Arnett has gotten to know a lot of the Leafs over the years. He's not only a popular actor, but also a Leafs super fan. Arnett handled the narration of he Leafs' recent "All or Nothing" series on Amazon Prime, so he has spent a good deal of time with the guys and has formed some friendships in the locker room. Obviously, Nylander is one of them.

Overall, the All-Star event has been a bit of a mixed bag, though last night's All-Star Skills Competition was an improvement over seasons past. Both Nylander and Matthews ended up placing in the top 5 in the Skills Comp, with Nylander finishing 4th and Matthews 3rd. Arnett's co-captain, Connor McDavid, of course, won it all after helping to design the skills events.
