Players often like to get back to their NHL cities a couple of weeks in advance of training camp to get themselves back into a routine, but at least two European Leafs have not yet departed, as William Nylander and Rasmus Sandin were on a golf course in Stockholm, Sweden today, per Sandin's Instagram account.
Now, this doesn't necessarily mean anything in terms of fitness level, as Nylander is a reported "gym rat" and is always skating and working out while he's home for the summer. I'd imagine that since he and Sandin are so tight that Sandin is often right there with him.
Perhaps the pair are simply preparing to travel back to Toronto after the long weekend - though I'll be curious to see whether Sandin travels back to Toronto right away or whether he remains in Sweden while his agent, Lewis Gross, continues to grind away at the negotiating table with Leafs GM Kyle Dubas.
If we receive word that Nylander has touched down in Toronto and there's no sight of Sandin, I suppose we'll have some additional insight as to how negotiations between his agent and the Leafs are going.
