Frederik Andersen spent 5 seasons in Toronto, but during that span, he never did anything for the Leafs like what he pulled off for the Carolina Hurricanes in New York on Tuesday night.

During a Tuesday tilt between the Canes and the Rangers, the Rangers faced a delayed penalty, which sent Andersen skating towards to Hurricanes bench for the extra attacker. While the netminder was headed up the ice, a teammate was following him carrying the puck and had his stick lifted. Andersen did the only thing he could think of - carried the puck until he found someone to pass it to.

Eventually, as he approached centre ice, he spotted defenseman Tony DeAngelo open behind him in the Canes' zone and fed it back to him and continued towards the bench for the extra attacker. The play was completely legal. The only place that the goaltender cannot handle the puck is in the corners just outside of the trapezoid.

You don't see that every day.
