Former Maple Leafs winger and current analyst Colby Armstrong has suggested that a reunion between Mitch Marner and Kyle Dubas is very possible.

Marner's future with the Leafs is very much in question with him being asked to waive his no-movement clause as the Leafs tried to acquire Mikko Rantanen late last week.
While Leafs GM Brad Treliving addressed the situation in an impromptu press conference, it hasn't stopped the media from projecting potential landing spots for the 27-year-old.
Treliving re-iterated that the Leafs want to keep Marner, but based on reports, the team will not know whether he will stay or leave until July 1st or just before. Teams such as the Chicago Blackhawks have been rumoured to be keeping tabs on his situation. Now, former Leaf Colby Armstrong believes that there's some potential for a Marner-Dubas reunion in Pittsburgh.
On Sunday's NHL on TNT broadcast, Armstrong noted that the Pittsburgh Penguins will have $26M in cap space and should look to add the former first-round pick to get Sidney Crosby back into the playoffs as they rebuild.
"Brings me to my next point... and look at free agency and who's up and Marner. Can they secure him and can they sign him in the off-season. I'm just saying there's a relationship there with Kyle Dubas."
The Leafs have Dubas to thank for putting them in this mess after he folded to Marner and his agent Darren Ferris during negotiations on his current contract, so Marner and Ferris know full-well that they can leverage the relationship with Dubas and his tendency to ''give in" and potentially coerce the Penguins into giving him an absurd offer, which they might entertain with all of that cap space.
With 19 games left in the regular season, Marner will have to show he can perform in the playoffs if he expects to be made the highest paid winger in NHL history, let alone remain with the Leafs.
