On Tuesday, TSN's Shawn Simpson started a monster when he suggested that unrestricted free agent Rick Nash could sign with the Marliesafter the New Year eventually signing a minimum deal with the Leafs. The comments came after Nash's agent denied rumors that the forward was ready to retire. On Wednesday, NHL insider Bob McKenzie was asked about the speculation while appearing on TSN 1050. He believes signing with the Marlies isn't even close to a thought right now as Nash is fully focused on his health and well being. However, McKenzie didn't deny that Nash to the Leafs does make some sense. «I can tell you this: Mike Babcock loves Rick Nash. Had him at the Olympics. Loves the way he plays and what have you."
