"The Nikita Soshnikov saga with the Toronto Maple Leafs officially ended on Thursday evening. The team just announced that they have traded Soshnikov to the St. Louis Blues for a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Soshnikov has been the center of a lot of attention this season. First, he needed to be called up by November or else his contract would be voided. He was injured after just three games, but remained on injured reserve even after playing five games for the Toronto Marlies on a conditioning stint which caused quite a stir. In 70 career NHL games with the Maple Leafs, Soshnikov had seven goals and 14 points.
