The Toronto Marlies are Calder Cup champions, and some of the winning pedigree will be ready for the NHL next season. With a couple of roster spots set to be open next season, there's some Marlies who will be ready to make that jump and grab a spot. The TipOfTheTower blog points out that Travis Dermott and Adreas Johnsson are almost guaranteed a spot, and they could be followed by a couple of more guys. Miro Aaltonen who played alongside Johnsson could make the jump and Carl Grundstrom seems to have gotten comfortable with the North American game.Of course the big jump everybody would like to see is Timothy Liljegren, however the Leafs might protect him in the NHL for another year. Other players who will be trying to steal a spot of training camp will include Justin Holl, Pierre Engvall and Jeremy Bracco. Who from this list do you think will grab an NHL roster spot?
