"Toronto Maple Leafs' general manager Kyle Dubas spoke to the media on Tuesday and made some very interesting comments. While we've already heard Dubas stand up for forward Mitch Marner regarding the criticism he's received this offseason, is it possible Marner wasn't always in the plans for the Leafs' 2021-22 season? We know that a large group of fans wanted to trade Marner this offseason and maybe Dubas wanted to do the same. The Leafs' GM was asked about possibly trading Marner this offseason and didn't answer with a straight "No" as you would expect."There was nothing that came along that would make our team better." A very telling answer that could be interpreted as Marner was on the block but the Leafs' just didn't get the offer they were hoping for. What do you think of Dubas' comments?
