"It's an exciting time for Toronto Maple Leafs' fans as we wait to see who the Leafs' could add at the deadline. Earlier today we heard an absolutely crazy suggestion regarding the Leafs landing Jeff Petry and Max Domi from the Canadiens. While that's not likely to happen, Elliotte Friedman brought up a more likely scenario in his latest "31 Thoughts" column. Friedman confirms that the Leafs have had discussions with the Minnesota Wild regarding defenseman Matt Dumba. The 25 year old righty fits the Leafs' wanted list perfectly as he's a young defenseman who's got plenty of term left on his deal. Dumba is signed through the 2022-23 season at $6million per season. The Leafs' would have to get creative to fit that money in their very tight salary cap situation but can play a physical game and contribute offensively.
