With the NHL trade deadline now just over 1 week away, Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving hasn't been willing to pay the ask to facilitate a trade. Toronto has their 2024 first round pick draft pick at their disposal but may be more inclined to part with a prospect instead.
Toronto's 2023 first round pick, Easton Cowan, is a name that rival general managers would be asking Treliving about. Cowan has been electric for the London Kings this season. The 18-year-old is on a Knights franchise record twenty-six game point streak dating back to late November. Cowan is in the record books ahead of names like Patrick Kane, Mitch Marner, and Corey Perry in this regard.
Treliving will need to part ways with something of value if he wants to upgrade this roster between now and the the March 8th trade deadline, but Cowan should be one name that remains out of any deals.
